dingdong...

Almost all of my closest friends are are hearing wedding bells (or already have). Its been cool to watch them select and choose the details of their special event. Their true personality shows through. The most recent to join the ceremonial club is my best friend, Julie. She has chosen to get married in a hotel. Not only is it beautiful but it has tremendous history.

It was built in 1908 by the same architect who created Ellis Island. The Hotel was fully restored for its centennial in 2008. Once a home for sailors and even Titanic survivors...its now more of a hidden treasure of New York. Its called the Jane Hotel...simply because of the street it sits on. The rooms are similar to bunks on a ship and their is high levels nostalgia throughout the entire space. I can not wait to be a guest and watch them get married...not to mentioned, I introduced them...hehehhe so I am particularly thrilled :)

the shape of love too...

(i wanted to add a few of my own found hearts in nature)

i discovered this one recently on the hard wood floor in my house (just sitting quietly under my couch haha)

found this one while my family was out for a walk in the nice weather yesterday.

(and my ABSOLUTE favorite) my lil cousin Jane Elizabeth. i completely forgot about the heart shaped strawberry birthmark on her arm. SO CUTE

my mom has an easter dinner tradition. we wear bunny ears and get tipsy.

(another successful year HAHAHA)

her house was in the middle of re-modeling. i found this in the bathroom as a place holder for a mirror. HHAHA

im not religious at all....so this holiday is just an excuse to have a delightful afternoon with my family : )

captain's verses...

My wild girl, we have had
to regain time
and march backward, in the distance
of our lives, kiss after kiss,
gathering from one place what we gave
without joy, discovering in another
the secret road
that gradually brought your feet close to mine,
and so beneath my mouth
you see again the unfulfilled plant
of your life putting out its roots
toward my heart that was waiting for you.
And one by one the nights
between our separated cities
are joined to the night that unites us.
The light of each day,
its flame or its repose,
they deliver to us, taking them from time,
and so our treasure
is disinterred in shadow or light,
and so our kisses kiss life:
all love is enclosed in our love:
all thirst ends in our embrace.
Here we are at last face to face,
we have met,
we have lost nothing.
We have felt each other lip to lip,
we have changed a thousand times
between us death and life,
all that we were bringing
like dead medals
we threw to the bottom of the sea,
all that we learned
was of no use to us:
we begin again,

we end again
death and life.
And here we survive,
pure, with the purity that we created,
broader than the earth that could not lead us astray,
eternal as the fire that will burn
as long as life endures.

-Pablo Neruda
