The likeness I’d like to be…
I don’t think I will ever fully satisfy my personal vision of style because I’m too often pulled into different directions. I gravitate towards ideals of authenticity and culture within design but also look to contemporary translations. At the end of the day….I feel there is so much rad shit out there that it’s impossible to exist in a single identity. ‘Likeness’ will be an ongoing editorial photo series of my varying fashion directives…focusing on one at a time…

...blue
i often look for the beauty of life, in its most traditional forms. but while searching, i will sometimes found 'ugliness' instead. i try not to turn away because i know there is so much brilliance within it. dispear can be just as profound as its counterpart; hope. i know passion lives in both darkness as well as light. we are all capable of hate as much as love...and that...is beautiful to me.

if i were....
If I were a word, I would want be one that isn’t properly pronounced. Something clumsy that didn’t quite roll off the tongue. uuuhhh....I’m thinking February. It has this almost invisible, yet stubborn ‘r’ that I never hear anyone actually sound out and whenever I try, I sound pretty silly. could i give some character to this pushed aside consonant to get it the respect it deserves??

photos in space...
i am so pleased to have this little collection of images showcasing my work in other's space. the work comes from my 'toy camera' series, which i have been doing for years. to explain it...i shoot strickly with plastic lens and never crop or retouch the images. i find it a tremendous compliment to know that people want look at work everyday.

if i were…
i want to start a series of hypothetical’s entitled 'if i were'. this list will be based off of random things that i would do if I were simply wearing someone else’s pants…
if i were a homeowner, i would paint my front door a different color every month. not only could this create slight confusion within the postal system.....and hopefully preventing the ‘man’ from locating me…but also satisfy my battle with indecisiveness.

function vs form…
the gap between these concepts was considerably narrowed with this series, entitled ‘fiction’. These mirrors were designed by Jean-Marie Massaud which he has "made in extralight glass with degrading shaded silvering. They hang on the wall with a chromium-plated metal cylinder” This work intrigues me because its design is meant to stand in the way of its purpose.
A translucent mirror?!?!? is that like horizontal stairs??

only the good die young...
This may be true for James Dean, Ian Curtis or Biggie but not Daniel Johnston. At the age of 48, he manages to defy this grim colloquialism while still living with his parents. I admit….there is a morbid and romantic element to losing greatness before time has done its worst but let’s not overlook the sexiness of manic-depressive psychosis...
