mos definitely...

fist pounding and head bobbing infected the crowd thursday evening as hip-hop giants Mos Def and Talib Kweli took the stage. the tour was structured to promote Mos' new album ecstatic while Talib served as his right hand man. i was no exception to masses, as i belted out every lyric i knew. the classics were not over looked but mostly we stood wide eyed as alot of new tracks were performed. Mos was visibly thoughtful in his stage presence. i particularly noticed how he abandoned contemporary hip-hip dance to honor the spirit of the late micheal jackson the entire show. he had total commitment to the movements. even his gold-fastened dress shoes fit the part...which later seemed necessary so he could pull off the moonwalk...

re-cast...

i heard it's been confirmed, whitney houston's life story will be made into a movie projected to be finished by 2011.
when it was announced that lark voohies will be playing the lead as the infamous whit-whit (my petname for ms. houston) i wasnt totally into it.
dont get me wrong, i am thrilled to see lark working again....How High wasnt exactly a homerun.
my only hang-up is that im not seeing enough resemblance.
isnt there someone who looks more striking to whitney?
is it just me?

season in review....

its been an interesting summer. i have had some ups, some downs but such is life.



I saw an entire town turn a group of strangers into family in just a few days

I witnessed two mothers be forced to bury their young sons

I taught myself new skills

I found new muses

I turned the corner to understanding the positive and negative impact that I make

I realized that some things in a family will never change

I have seen how powerful a meaningful friendship can be

I have seen how clichéd a meaningless friendship can be

I understand that people can only change when they are ready for it...and some never are

I took advantage of using faith over skepticism

I have learned that bad habits take longer to break than they do to pick up

I have experienced what it is to be 'too late'

I realized that age doesn't matter...maturity does

walk the line...

this is a collection of people that i find both brilliant and bewildering.
